Virginia Tech Photo

Former Virginia Tech President Charles Steger will be remembered Monday afternoon.

A memorial service is planned for 1:30 at the Moss Arts Center.  The university also announced options for those wishing to make contributions in honor of Steger.

Here is the complete announcement from Virginia Tech:

A service to commemorate the life of Steger will be held on Monday, May 14 at 1:30 p.m. in the Moss Arts Center’s Anne and Ellen Fife Theatre, located within the Street and Davis Performance Hall at 190 Alumni Mall. A reception will be held immediately following the service. Overflow seating will be available in the Commonwealth Ballroom of Squires Student Center.

For those unable to attend, Virginia Tech will livestream the service off the university’s homepage, www.vt.edu.

For those who would like to honor the memory of Charles Steger, in lieu of flowers, please consider contributions to the Virginia Tech Steger Center for International Scholarship at Riva San Vitale and the Olivio Ferrari Foundation, the Charles W. Steger Endowed Scholarship, the Steger Poetry Prize, or the Boys & Girls Club in Scottsville, Virginia. For more information on giving to the Steger Center, Steger Endowed Scholarship, or Steger Poetry Prize, please call 540-231-2801 or email give.to.vt@vt.edu.
