Culinary Madness

Where can you get the best meal in the state? With so many culinary options from Abingdon to Norfolk, it might be hard for Virginia to agree on one.

The Virginia Tourism Corporation devised one way to pick Virginia’s best dish– and as National Relations Media Manager Richard Lewis explains they’re collecting votes, bracket-style. The contest has been narrowed down from 80 statewide contenders to the ‘Enticing Eight.’

Among those still in the running are the “Peanut butter bang sundae” from Dipper’s Ice Cream in Ridgeway, and “Cottage Pie” from Corgan’s Public House in Harrisonburg.

Voting for the remaining eight ends at midnight Friday, 4/18, and a champion will be crowned at the end of the month.

The winning restaurant gets the honor of having the best meal in the state and also national attention – as tens of thousands of votes are cast each day, even from beyond Virginia. The champion will also serve as the prime representative of the deliciousness that lies within our state.
