Body of Missing Pulaski Boy Found

UPDATE Thursday Evening: Authorities say the body of a 5-year-old Noah Thomas who had been missing for almost a week has been found.

Pulaski County Sheriff Jim Davis announced the discovery during a brief news conference last night.

“We are very saddened to announce that we have recovered the body of Noah Thomas shortly after 1 PM today (Thursday). He was found at a location near his home. His body was discovered in a septic tank during a more detailed and aggressive search. The recovery of the body is now part of our investigation, and ongoing.”

Noah Thomas was last seen by his mother on Sunday morning at the family's home in Dublin. Several hundred law enforcement officers and volunteers had been searching for him since then.

Police had received more than 100 tips from around the country.

Davis stressed after Noah's discovery that no one is in custody and the family is cooperating with investigators.

The search continues  for missing 5-year old Noah Thomas and officials are without leads.

Professional search-and-rescue teams are combing the area near the boy’s home in Pulaski County. His mother last saw him watching cartoons at home on Sunday. When she woke up after a nap he was gone. And while police are ruling nothing out, they will not say if they suspect foul play.

Billy Chrimes, deputy search and rescue coordinator for the Virginia Department of Emergency Management, says more than 50 different agencies from surrounding localities are helping with the search for Noah Thomas, as well as state and federal authorities.

They urge anyone with information of any kind to contact the Pulaski County Sheriff’s office at 540-980-7800.
