Virginia Pollinator Week Inspires an Essay

It's Virginia Pollinator Week, a time to celebrate honey bees and other insects, bats and birds essential to the production of apples, alfalfa, berries, cucumbers, melons, peaches, squash, tomatoes, and pumpkins. Experts estimate that insect-pollinated plants are the direct or indirect source of about one-third of the human diet.  We invited Albemarle County beekeeper and author Faith Andrews Bedford to share her reflections on bees
