Prediction

PETER SAGAL, HOST:

In just a minute, we're going to ask our panelists to predict who will steal the spotlight from Donald Trump at next week's debate - and how. But first, let me tell you all that support for NPR comes from NPR stations and Angie's List, a service designed to help consumers fix and improve their homes. Visitors can get project support and schedule appointments with local contractors online or with the Angie's List iPhone and Android apps. More at angieslist.com. Lumber Liquidators, a proud sponsor of NPR, offering more than 400 styles, including hardwood, bamboo, laminate and vinyl, with flooring specialists in hundreds of stores nationwide. More at lumberliquidators.com or 1-800-HARDWOOD. And The Pew Charitable Trusts, driven by the power of knowledge to solve today's most challenging problems at pewtrusts.org. WAIT WAIT ...DON'T TELL ME is a production of NPR and WBEZ Chicago in association with Urgent Haircut Productions, Doug Berman, Benevolent Overlord. Phillip Goedicke writes our limericks. Our house manager is Don Hall. Our assistant house manager is Tyler Green. Our intern is Jesse Betender’s Game. Our web guru is Beth Novey. B. J. Leiderman composed our theme. Our program is produced by Miles Dornboss. Technical direction is from Lorna White. Our CFO is Ann Nguyen. Our production coordinator is Robert Neuhaus. Our senior producer is Ian Chillag. The executive producer of WAIT WAIT ...DON'T TELL ME is Michael Linwood Danforth.

Now, panel, who is going to out-Trump Trump at next week's debate? What are they going to do, Brian Babylon?

BRIAN BABYLON: I'm going to go with Cobra Commander from "G.I. Joe." He's always up to no good.

(APPLAUSE)

SAGAL: From Faith Salie.

FAITH SALIE: Chris Christie will flip the kiddie table like a real housewife of New Jersey.

(APPLAUSE)

SAGAL: And Mo Rocca.

MAURICE ROCCA: After Dennis Rodman delivers his nominating speech of Trump at the Republican National Convention, El Chapo will swoop in and kidnap both of them before the two are daringly rescued by none other than Kim Jong-un, who will become the 18th GOP nominee.

(APPLAUSE)

BILL KURTIS, BYLINE: And if any of that happens, we'll ask you about it on WAIT WAIT ...DON'T TELL ME.

SAGAL: Thank you, Bill Kurtis. Thanks to Faith Salie, Brian Babylon and Mo Rocca. Thank to Donna LaPietra and the Millennium Park Foundation. Thanks to the as many as 15,000 people who came out to see us here in the most beautiful park in the most beautiful city in America.

(APPLAUSE)

BABYLON: Yes.

SAGAL: You are the best.

BABYLON: I love it.

(APPLAUSE)

SAGAL: I am Peter Sagal, and we'll see you next week. This is NPR. Transcript provided by NPR, Copyright NPR.
