Met Opera Weekly Preview with Conductor Steven White: Verdi's Requiem

Nov 30, 2017

Metropolitan Opera Music Director Emeritus James Levine will conduct Verdi's Requiem. He's seen here acknowledging the audience's applause before a performance of Mozart’s "Così fan tutte" on Tuesday, September 24, 2013.

Each Friday afternoon during Met Opera season, Conductor Steven White will provide a preview of Saturday's matinee performance.

Steven White made his debut with the Metropolitan Opera in 2010 and has since conducted a number of MET performances. He also continues a longstanding relationship with Opera Roanoke as Principal Guest Conductor and will conduct two performances of La boheme in Roanoke in April 2018.

This week, Conductor Steven White previews Giuseppe Verdi's Requiem, a dramatic work that has been described as "an opera in ecclesiastical garb."

MET Previews with Steven White are brought to you by Opera Roanoke, presenting the MET Live in HD in Whitman Theater, Virginia Western Community College.
