Senators Mark Warner and Tim Kaine are applauding action by the U-S Department of Transportation aimed at improving the safety of crude oil rail shipments.
The action follows the derailment of 17 cars in downtown Lynchburg a few months ago.
The Department of Transportation’s proposed regulations are available for review and the public has 60 days to offer comment on them.
