In partnership with NPR, WVTF, and Radio IQ, the New City Arts Initiative brings you one of UVA’s finest printmaking professors, Akemi Ohira.

During the month of October the WVTF and RADIO IQ Studio Gallery at 216 West Water Street, Charlottesville (across from Eloise) will present “News Feed”– recent prints by Akemi Ohira.

Akemi’s exhibit features color lithographs made in response to news stories, as she “is an artist who strives to illuminate and tease stereotypes, first impressions, preconceived notions and daily glitches that makes us pause, for more than a fraction of a second.”

In partnership with NPR, WVTF, and RADIO IQ, the New City Arts Initiative brings you recent work by a local photographer, Barrie Humphries.

For the month of December, the WVTF and RADIO IQ Studio Gallery will host “Come Home, Nancy”– recent photographs by local photographer, Barrie Humphries. The gallery is located at 216 West Water Street, Charlottesville. (downtown, across from Eloise).

In partnership with NPR, WVTF and RADIO IQ,  the New City Arts Initiative brings you Rachel Callahan at WVTF in January!

Throughout January, Rachel’s work will up at the WVTF and RADIO IQ Studio Gallery at 216 West Water Street, Charlottesville in her exhibit, “The Surrender Series”– works on paper, along with a few flags.

In partnership with NPR, WVTF, and RADIO IQ, the New city Arts Initiative presents  Avery Lawrence’s “Black Shapes, Blue Skies” at the WVTF and RADIO IQ Studio Gallery.

In partnership with NPR, WVTF, and RADIO IQ, the New city Arts Initiative presents  VOCAL’s “Firewalkers” at the WVTF and RADIO IQ Studio Gallery.

In light of Charlottesville’s Festival of the Book in March, New City Arts hopes that this exhibit will fit nicely with all the local, literary buzz we eagerly  anticipate.

In partnership with NPR, WVTF, and RADIO IQ, the New city Arts Initiative presents  Patrick Costello’s “Far Out Right Here” at the WVTF and RADIO IQ Studio Gallery.

Patrick‘s new work sits somewhere between small mounds of soil and the giant cosmic void. The paintings and prints in the show are inspired by canning food and geometric quilt and textile designs.

During the month of April Patrick’s work will be displayed at the WVTF and RADIO IQ gallery at 216 West Water Street.

In May WVTF, and RADIO IQ, presents an exhibit featuring works on paper by architects and Haven guests, coordinated by AIA Central Virginia and New City Arts.

In June NPR, WVTF, RADIO IQ, and New City  Arts  presents “People of Charlottesville Project” by Sarah Cramer Shields.

Sarah’s exhibit is a (literal) portrait of our city. The images on exhibit were recently featured in this interview with Sandy Hausman of WVTF!

The WVTF and Radio IQ Studio Gallery is located at 215 West Water Street, Charlottesville.

During the month of July, NPR, WVTF, RADIO IQ and New City Arts host Vicky Eicher‘s “Life in the Far North” at the WVTF and RADIO IQ Studio Gallery.

“Life in the Far North” is an exhibit of approximately 16 images taken during Vicky’s expeditions to Alaska, Svalbard, Norway, and Iceland.

The WVTF and RADIO IQ Studio Gallery is located at 216 West Water Street, Charlottesville.
