The Salem Museum announces a special exhibit just in time for the holidays. Before all the networked, electronic toys of today, children enjoyed the dolls, games, and building blocks of a simpler era. This holiday season, bring your children–or just come yourself–to see and play with toys which date back 50, 70, or even 100 years! Toys of Christmas Past will feature a variety of vintage toys. Some will be on display, and some are hands-on so children can discover how their parents and grandparents played when they were little. The Museum will have an American Flyer model train layout featuring vintage steam locomotives and holiday-themed trains. Toys are from the Museum’s collection and on loan from its members, including a range of toys from toy soldiers to doll houses. Some were the popular mass-produced toys of the day, and some were lovingly hand-crafted. The Salem Museum invites you to come play!
