Akemi Ohira

In partnership with NPR, WVTF, and Radio IQ, the New City Arts Initiative brings you one of UVA’s finest printmaking professors, Akemi Ohira.

During the month of October the WVTF and RADIO IQ Studio Gallery at 216 West Water Street, Charlottesville (across from Eloise) will present “News Feed”– recent prints by Akemi Ohira.

Akemi’s exhibit features color lithographs made in response to news stories, as she “is an artist who strives to illuminate and tease stereotypes, first impressions, preconceived notions and daily glitches that makes us pause, for more than a fraction of a second.”
